Bob Richardson '51
Bob Richardson was a three-sport athlete for the Poland Bulldogs from 1947 to 1951. He participated in track, football, and basketball.
In track, Bob was a four-year letter winner. He was the State Pole Vault Champion in 1951 and the team was State Champions. During his career, Bob was undefeated in the pole vault. He won the league and county meets and set the district record of 11 feet, 8 3/4 inches at Salem.
Along with track, Bob played football and basketball. In football, Bob played running back and was a two-year letter winner. He was also a two-year letter winner in basketball.
Post high school, Bob served in the United States Army. He has also been recognized as one of the Mahoning Valley’s top bowlers and has four sanctioned 300 games to his name, including one at the age of 81.
