Coach Clark C. White

Coach Clark C. White served as one of the most influential coaches in Poland High School history from 1934 to 1943, building successful basketball and track programs while establishing the school's cross country tradition.

As basketball coach, White compiled an impressive 97–65 record over nine seasons. He guided Poland to its first County and Sectional Championships in 1938, followed by County Championships in 1939 and 1942, and another Sectional Championship in 1942.

In track & field, White coached six individual state champions, including a national record holder. Under his leadership, Poland won five County Championships, three District Championships, and three Poland Relays Championships, establishing the Bulldogs as one of the area's premier track programs.

White also coached County Championship basketball teams in 1935 and 1936, and in 1937, he founded Poland High School's cross country program, leaving a lasting legacy that shaped the future of Bulldogs athletics.
