David Finney '69

David Finney, Class of 1969, was an outstanding three-sport athlete at Poland High School, earning recognition in football, basketball, and track & field. In football, he was a Tri-County All-Selection as both a junior and senior and scored 13 touchdowns during his senior season.

On the basketball court, David was a key member of the 1969 Tri-County Championship team, contributing to one of the school's successful championship seasons.

In track & field, David excelled in the pole vault and as a sprinter. He was named Most Valuable Performer (MVP) at the Struthers Relays, Mahoning County Relays, and the Tri-County Championship. He won both the 100-meter and 200-meter events at these meets, placed third in the long jump, competed on the county relay team, and set the school record in the pole vault.

David's versatility and success across three sports earned him induction into the Poland Hall of Fame.
