Dave Smercansky '75 

Dave Smercansky, Class of 1975, was a standout pitcher and three-year varsity letter winner for Poland High School's baseball team. He served as team captain during the 1975 season and established himself as one of the program's most accomplished pitchers.

Over his varsity career, Dave compiled an impressive 11–2 record, recording 109 strikeouts in 102 innings pitched while posting an outstanding 1.35 ERA. His dominance on the mound included one no-hitter and four one-hit games, highlighting his exceptional consistency and control.

Dave's leadership, remarkable pitching statistics, and outstanding performances made him one of the premier baseball players in Poland High School history and earned him induction into the Poland Hall of Fame.
