Charles F. Stone

Charles F. Stone was the longtime head track & field coach at Poland High School, serving from 1943 to 1966. During his remarkable coaching career, he led Poland to its only Ohio State Team Track Championship and established one of the most successful track programs in school history.

Under Stone's leadership, Poland captured Ohio Class B State Track Championships in 1947 and 1951, finished as State Runner-Up in 1950, won 10 County Championships, and claimed 8 District Championships. His teams also won the prestigious Ohio Wesleyan Relays in 1950 and 1951 and compiled an undefeated dual meet record from 1946 through 1954.

Stone's accomplishments earned him induction into the Ohio Track Coaches Hall of Fame. Beyond his impressive record of championships and victories, he was widely respected as an exceptional coach, educator, sportsman, and mentor, leaving a lasting legacy in Poland High School athletics.
