Jack Allen '47

Jack Allen, Class of 1947, was a standout three-sport athlete at Poland High School, excelling in basketball, track & field, and football. In basketball, he was a three-year letterman and graduated as Poland's second all-time leading scorer, cementing his place among the school's greatest offensive players.

In track & field, Allen was a four-year letterman and an outstanding pole vaulter. As a senior, he finished second in the state, helping Poland capture the State Track Championship. He also earned both County and District Championships in the pole vault during his senior season.

On the football field, Allen was a three-year letterman and graduated as Poland's all-time leading scorer. During his senior year, he set a school record with seven touchdowns and established the school record for a 100-yard interception return for a touchdown, a mark that stood as one of Poland's most memorable football achievements.
