Jim Harnisch
Jim played varsity football all four years of high school and was co-captain as a senior as well as class president for two years. His last two years he was a left tackle on both offense and defense.
For two years he was selected to first team All-Tri-County and was the only unanimous selection in 1960. In track he threw the shot put for four years.
At the University of Notre Dame Jim played right guard on offense and nose tackle on defense. In those years free substitution was not permitted.
After ND Jim earned his MD at Ohio State College of Medicine then served residencies in Internal Medicine at Emory University and Infectious Diseases and Dermatology at the University of Washington. He retired in 2024 as Professor Emeritus of Medicine and Dermatology at the U of Washington where he taught for 51 years.
