Jenna Modic '12

Jenna was a four-year starter for the Bulldog softball team from 2008-2012. During her four years, the Bulldogs were Regional Finalist (2009), State Runner-Up (2010), Ohio High School Athletic Association State Champions her Junior year (2011), and were State semi-finalists during her Senior season in 2012. She was selected both First Team All-Northeast Ohio and First Team All-Conference all four years. Jenna was also selected First Team All-State and voted as a team captain her Sophomore, Junior and Senior years. During her Senior year, she was named Spring Athlete of the Year. Jenna is still the all-time career leader at Poland in games played (119), at bats (408), hits (205), singles (127), doubles (61), and batting average (.547). She is also second in career RBIs (152). Jenna was also a member of the National Honor Society.

Jenna received a full athletic scholarship to attend Miami University (of Ohio). As a two-way player (pitcher and infielder), she was a two-time All-MAC honoree for the RedHawks. She was a First Team All-MAC and an All-Freshman selection in 2013 and earned Second Team All-MAC recognition as a sophomore in 2014. After her sophomore season, Jenna transferred to the University of Pittsburgh. At Pittsburgh, she was a member of the first Panther softball squad to reach the ACC Championship Game and advance to a NCAA Regional Final (2015). She batted .538 with eight RBIs and two home runs at the NCAA Regional. In 2015, she was named First Team All-ACC, two-time ACC Player of the Week, an All-ACC Academic Team recipient and Third Team All-NFCA. She also earned Second Team All-ACC nods as a Senior for Pitt. Jenna still ranks top-five in Pittsburgh’s overall career batting average (.324), in single-season hits (61) and single-season saves (three).
