Joel Wertman

Lettered in three sports- basketball, track and cross country.

In track, county champ at 800M Jr. and Sr. years. 800M Champ at first Poland Invitational and anchored 4x400. At 1996 meet, qualified in three events- 4x800, 4x400, and 800.

In basketball, Joel was team captain his senior year. He was also chosen Student Athlete of the Week, Valley Playbook Player of the Year as well as MVAC Player of the Year.

In cross country for 1996, Joel was Metro Athletic Conference Champ, sectional and District champ, also MVP Metro Athletic Champion. At Poland, he was National Honor Society both Jr. and Sr. years. State of Ohio honors Graduate and a two year member of the band. A graduate of John Hopkins University with a major in English.

While at John Hopkins, Joel was a three year letter winner in basketball and in 1999 was chosen team captain. He also earned All Conference honors and in 1999 was selected to the All Conference Teams both his junior and senior year. In 1999, Joel was also chosen to the Second Team Division III All American Team.

In addition, Joel has a Law Degree from Temple University and is presently working as an attorney in Philadelphia.
