Keith Martin
Keith Martin excelled as a Poland High School athlete in cross country and track, earning three varsity letters in both sports. In cross country, he placed 4th at the MVIC Championship and 4th at the New Wilmington Invitational in 1978, 3rd at the MVIC Championship and 2nd at New Wilmington in 1979, and tied for 1st at the MVIC Championship while finishing 7th at the state meet in 1980.
His track accomplishments included helping the 4-mile relay team win the Austintown Fitch Relays in 1979. In 1980, he finished 2nd in the 2-mile run at the County Meet and 3rd at the Bellaire Relays. In 1981, he placed 1st at the County Meet, 2nd at the Sectionals, and 2nd at the MVIC Championships.
One of Keith's most remarkable achievements came after high school. From 1986 through 1993, he won all 12 of his road races, competing in distances ranging from 2 miles to 5K. He was also recognized as an outstanding teammate, known for encouraging and supporting others as much as pursuing his own success.
Keith attended Malone College and later worked for Hartz, Inc.
