Anne Kaneski Wilson

Anne Kaneski Wilson began her athletic career at Poland High School in 1974, when girls' athletics first became available at the ninth-grade level. She earned varsity letters in basketball, track & field, and softball, becoming one of the school's first outstanding three-sport female athletes while also maintaining honor roll status.

In track & field, Anne competed in the high jump, long jump, hurdles, and the 800-meter relay. During her senior year, she added softball, where she pitched the team to its first MVUC Championship and was selected to play in the Ohio/Pennsylvania All-Star Game.

While attending Youngstown State University (YSU), Anne coached the Poland Junior High girls' basketball team for three seasons and the girls' softball team from 1981–1983. Her softball teams finished second in the MVUC in 1982, and the 1983 team tied for first.

At YSU, Anne received a four-year athletic scholarship in field hockey and also played three years of softball, helping her team win the OIASW Championship all three seasons. She graduated cum laude, earned a Bachelor of Science in Education and a Master's degree, and became a member of Kappa Delta Pi Honorary Society in Education.

Anne later became a teacher in the Struthers School System, where she continued her career in education.
