Luke Wollet '10

Luke Wollet, Class of 2010, was an exceptional three-sport athlete at Poland Seminary High School, earning Hall of Fame recognition for his accomplishments in football, basketball, and track & field. In football, he finished his career with 3,400 all-purpose yards, 36 touchdowns, 13 interceptions, and 180 tackles, while also recording six forced fumbles and four fumble recoveries. As a senior, Luke totaled 1,500 all-purpose yards, 21 touchdowns, five interceptions, and 70 tackles, earning First Team All-State, Division III All-Northeast, Ohio Inland District Player of the Year, and Conference Offensive Player of the Year honors. He was selected to play in the Ohio North-South All-Star Game, set the school record with a 104-yard interception return, helped lead the first class to make three straight playoff appearances, and scored the first touchdown on the school's new turf.

In basketball, Luke contributed to a team that reached the State Final Four, won a Regional Championship, and captured two District Championships. Individually, he was named First Team All-AAC as a senior and earned Honorable Mention All-AAC as a junior. He still holds the school record for most assists in a season (184), most career assists (305), and most assists in a game (14).

In track & field, Luke was a member of the school record-breaking 4x400 relay team that won the Ohio State Championship. He also earned a bronze medal in the 4x200 relay, qualified for the state meet in the open 440, and helped additional relay teams qualify for the state championships.

After graduation, Luke accepted a full athletic scholarship to Kent State University, where he played free safety and recorded 12 career interceptions, tying for seventh in program history. He became just the third Kent State player in 15 years to earn All-MAC honors three times. Following his collegiate career, he briefly spent time with the New Orleans Saints of the National Football League. Today, Luke resides in Miami, Florida, where he works as a National Outreach representative for a substance abuse treatment facility.
