Maria Mancini (Montalto) '12
Maria played Women’s Golf from 2008 to 2011 and was a four-year letter winner for the Bulldogs. She was a freshman member of the 2008 Division II Ohio High School Athletic Association State Championship team and a member of three State runner-up teams from 2009-2011. She was selected First Team All-Ohio in 2010 and Second Team All-Ohio in 2011. Maria helped power the team to four Sectional Championships and two District Championships during her tenure and was District runner-up in 2009. She holds the Sectional scoring record shooting a 69 at Pine Lakes Golf Course in 2010. Maria also holds the nine-hole record for Poland shooting a 31 at Mill Creek in 2010. She was a three-time First Team All-League member, as well as a three-time Northeast Ohio Golf Coaches Association First Team selection. Maria won the 2010 Ohio Junior Girls Golf Championship and qualified for several American Junior Golf Association tournaments throughout the country.
Maria received an athletic scholarship to play collegiate golf at Indiana University. During her career at IU, she was a four-year letter winner, played in 24 events for the Hoosiers, was selected as the Most Improved Player in 2014, shot a career best 68 at the Westbrook Invitational and finished the 2015 Big Ten Tournament as the top IU player. She was selected in 2014 to represent Indiana University on the NCAA All-Star Team with 11 other female golfers from around the country to play golf in Japan, Korea, and Hong Kong. Maria received her Bachelor’s Degree in Health Care Management and Policy in 2016 from IU and a degree in Accounting from Youngstown State University in 2018. She recently earned her MBA in 2023. Maria currently resides in Brooklyn, New York with her husband Stephen Montalto and works in the field of Finance.
