Dr. Michael Repasky '89

Dr. Michael Repasky, Class of 1989, was a four-year letter winner in football, basketball, and baseball, making him one of the most accomplished multi-sport athletes in Poland High School history. He served as team captain for all three sports during his senior year. In football, he earned First Team MVFC, First Team NEO, and Honorable Mention All-Ohio honors as a junior, followed by First Team MVFC, First Team All-NEO, and Second Team All-Ohio recognition as a senior. He also held the school record for career interceptions until it was later broken by Neil Harris.

On the basketball court, Michael was a four-year letter winner and captained the team during his senior season. In baseball, he was also a four-year letter winner, serving as team captain as a senior while leading the team in eight offensive categories. He earned First Team MVFC honors and finished with the team's highest batting average.

Following high school, Michael attended The Ohio State University, where he studied dentistry while playing baseball for the Buckeyes. He became the all-time school leader in doubles, earned First Team Academic All-American honors twice, served as team captain for two seasons, and helped lead Ohio State to four Big Ten Championship teams. He finished his collegiate career with a .346 batting average (12th highest in school history), was a three-time Academic All-Big Ten selection, two-time All-Big Ten honoree, and the 1994 Big Ten Tournament Most Valuable Player.

Michael also received the prestigious Big Ten Medal of Honor in 1994, awarded annually to the top male athlete from each Big Ten university for excellence in athletics and academics.

After earning his dental degree, Dr. Repasky served three years in the United States Army as a dentist before completing his military service.
