Susie Memo Schmitt '98

Susie Memo Schmitt, Class of 1998, was one of the most accomplished point guards in Poland Seminary High School girls basketball history. A four-year member of the Lady Bulldogs basketball program from 1994–1998, she was a three-year letter winner and served as team captain during each of those three seasons. Susie remains the school's all-time career assists leader and also holds the school record for most assists in a single game. She helped lead the Lady Bulldogs to District and Regional Championships, while the team reached the State Final Four for the first time in school history.

For her outstanding career, Susie earned Honorable Mention All-Northeast Ohio honors and was selected Second Team All-AAC.

Following graduation, Susie attended John Carroll University, where she played four years of collegiate intramural basketball while earning a degree in Early Childhood Education. She went on to teach in Streetsboro, Ohio, and later coached basketball for three years as a junior varsity head coach while assisting the varsity program.

Today, Susie resides in Hudson, Ohio, with her husband, Alex Schmitt, and their three children, Sam, Stella, and Rosalia.
