Myron Stallsmith

Myron Stallsmith is a 1954 graduate of Goshen High School (West Branch) where he played football, basketball and baseball. He went on to play football and baseball at Ohio University where he graduated in 1960 with a B.S. in Education. Myron began his teaching and coaching career at Poland Seminary High School in 1960. He taught industrial arts and was assistant football coach under Bill Van Brocklin, junior high basketball coach and head track coach. Myron received his Master's Degree from West Virginia University in 1965.

Stally was appointed Athletic Director in 1963 in addition to his teaching and coaching responsibilities. He taught for 36 years and became a full-time A.D. four years ago. Stally has seen many changes during the past 40 years. When he began as A.D. there were only three boys' sports, football, basketball and track. Presently, he administers 19 boys' and girls' programs involving 40 teams and 62 coaches. Also, he has witnessed the growth and improvement of the athletic facilities, which enables Poland to offer so many programs to our athletes. Myron wishes to express his appreciation to the administration, faculty, coaches and the many fine support groups that have helped in the past and are currently helping to make our athletic program a success. He believes there is no better school system to be associated with than Poland, and he enjoys being involved with the athletes and the community.
