Niko Fatimus '10

Niko was a three-year starter for the Poland Boys Basketball Team. As a Sophomore, he helped lead the Bulldogs to their only undefeated regular season in school history. They finished the season 25-1 as the AP Poll State Champions, and made it to the State Final Four. Niko broke the school record for most three-point field goals made in a single season (83) and was selected First Team All-League and Third Team Northeast Inland District.

As a Junior, he led the Bulldogs in scoring, (19.9 ppg) and helped lead the team to a District Final appearance, and a 19-5 record. He was First Team All-League, First Team Inland District, an All-State selection, and was the only underclassmen to make WKBN’s Starting Five.

As a Senior, Niko again led the Bulldogs in scoring, (17.8 ppg) and helped lead the team to a 22-2 record, a District Championship, and a Regional Appearance. Niko finished his playing career with 1,240 points. He broke three school records, including the most three-point field goals made in a game (11), most three-point field goals made in a season (97), and the most three-point field goals made in a career (261). All three records are ranked in the Top 10 in Ohio High School Athletic Association Basketball history. Also as a senior, Niko was First Team All-League, First Team Inland District, an All-State selection, an Ohio North vs. South All-Star game selection, and again made the WKBN Starting Five. Niko received a full athletic scholarship to Clarion University, and has also coached basketball at Poland for seven years.
