Nick Hulea Jr. '72

Nick Hulea Jr., Class of 1972, starred in football and baseball at Poland High School. In football, he was a three-year letter winner, earning All-League honors as both a junior and senior and All-Ohio honors during his senior season. He was a member of the 1971 Tri-County League Championship team, which finished 10–0. Nick also held the school record for points after touchdown (PATs) with 57 and played linebacker and center during his football career.

In baseball, Nick was a three-year letter winner as a catcher and earned All-League honors as both a junior and senior. His team also won the league championship during his senior season.

After high school, Nick attended Heidelberg College, graduating in 1977 with a degree in Education. He was a four-year starter at center, earned All-Conference honors as a junior and senior, and was named a Kodak Division III All-American as a junior. In 1976, he was selected to the Ohio Athletic Conference All-Star Team and chosen to play in the Ohio Shrine Bowl Game.
