Peter Perry (2001)

Peter Perry was a standout two-sport athlete at Poland High School, starring in football and track & field. As a senior football player, he served as team captain, was named Offensive Player of the Year, and earned First Team All-MAC and All-Quad County honors. As a junior, he totaled more than 2,500 yards of total offense, leading the Bulldogs to a 15–0 undefeated season and Poland’s first State Football Championship. He was also named MVP of the State Championship Game and received All-Ohio, All-NEO, and All-MAC recognition.

Perry finished his high school football career holding nearly every major rushing record in school history, including career rushing yards (4,007), career touchdowns (38), career total points (228), and career all-purpose yards (5,067). He also set single-season school records with 2,450 rushing yards, 24 touchdowns, 144 total points, and 326 rushing attempts.

In track & field, Perry was a four-year letter winner. As a junior, he anchored Poland’s State Championship relay team, becoming one of only a handful of Poland athletes to win two Ohio State Championships in the same year.

In addition to his varsity accomplishments, Perry also played three years of club hockey for Poland’s club team, showcasing his athletic versatility beyond varsity competition.
