Robert Barton (1937)

Robert Barton was a standout multi-sport athlete at Poland High School and a member of the 1937 State Championship Mile Relay Team. He also competed on the 1936 State Runner-up Medley Relay Team. In 1937, the Mile Relay team captured District, Poland Relays, and Mahoning County Championships, while setting a Mahoning County record.

In basketball, Barton earned All-Mahoning County honors in 1937, recognizing him as one of the area's top players.

On the baseball diamond, he was a three-year letterman, demonstrating consistent athletic excellence throughout his high school career.

Barton also competed in cross country, earning a varsity letter as a senior, further showcasing his versatility as a four-sport athlete and contributing to Poland High School's rich athletic tradition.
