Sarah Knill '02

Sarah Knill, Class of 2002, was a four-year letter winner for the Poland Lady Bulldogs Softball team from 1999–2002 and established herself as one of the greatest pitchers in school history. Over her career, she made 78 pitching appearances, including a school-record 28 appearances in 2001, while compiling 56 career victories, with 21 wins in 2001 (tied for the school record). Sarah struck out 426 batters, including 134 in 2002, and finished with a remarkable 0.66 career ERA and an opponent batting average of just .166, among the best marks in program history. She also pitched four no-hitters, two in 2001 and two in 2002.

Sarah earned All-League honors in 2001 and 2002 and was named All-State in 2002. She was also a member of three League Championship teams during her outstanding high school career.

After graduation, Sarah continued her softball career on an athletic scholarship, playing two seasons at Indiana University of Pennsylvania.

Today, Sarah lives just outside Charlotte, North Carolina, where she founded her own fitness studio and now manages a local yoga studio. She enjoys living near her family, including her sister Ashleigh and her parents, John and Josie, who all reside in the same town.
